Split Funding
A merchant cash advance collection method where a business's card processor automatically splits each transaction, sending a portion to the funder and the rest to the business.
Instead of a separate ACH debit, split funding routes the holdback percentage directly through the card processing transaction itself, so the business never sees the funder’s share hit its bank account in the first place.
This method requires coordination with the business’s payment processor and is generally tied to card sales specifically, which is part of why it’s most common with MCA structures built around processing volume rather than total bank deposits.
