MCA Renewal
A new merchant cash advance offered against the same business, typically once an existing advance is partially paid down, replacing or supplementing the original balance.
A renewal usually pays off the remaining balance on the current advance and provides additional funds on top, restarting the repayment term with a new factor rate and holdback rather than the business taking on a completely separate, second advance.
Renewals are common for businesses with an ongoing, recurring funding need, but it’s worth comparing a renewal’s total cost against simply finishing out the current advance and evaluating other financing options fresh, since renewal terms aren’t always the most competitive available.
