NSF Fee
A non-sufficient-funds fee charged when a scheduled ACH debit or payment fails because a business's bank account doesn't have enough available balance to cover it.
An NSF typically triggers a fee from both the business’s bank and, in many financing agreements, the lender or funder attempting the failed withdrawal, and a pattern of NSFs can also affect how a business is viewed in future underwriting.
Repeated NSFs are one of the clearest red flags lenders look for when reviewing bank statements, since they directly indicate the business struggled to cover a scheduled obligation on a given day.
