Average Collected Balance
The average balance in a bank account after accounting for the time it takes deposited funds (like checks) to fully clear, as opposed to the raw ledger balance.
Because some deposits, particularly checks, take a day or more to clear, the collected balance can be lower than the account’s stated ledger balance on any given day until those funds are confirmed available.
Some lenders specifically reference average collected balance rather than average daily balance for a more conservative, cleared-funds view of a business’s typical cash position.
