Merchant Account
A type of bank account that allows a business to accept and process credit and debit card payments from customers.
A merchant account is set up through a payment processor or acquiring bank and is what actually enables card transactions to be authorized, processed, and deposited into the business’s regular checking account.
Merchant account activity and statements are central to how MCA and other card-processing-based financing products are underwritten, since that data verifies real transaction volume directly from the processor.
