Gross Revenue
The total amount of money a business brings in from sales before any costs, expenses, or deductions are subtracted.
Gross revenue (sometimes called top-line revenue) reflects total sales activity but says nothing about profitability on its own, a business can have strong gross revenue and still operate at a loss if costs are high enough.
Many alternative financing products, including merchant cash advances, size offers largely around gross revenue or processing volume, since it’s a fast, verifiable number pulled directly from bank or processing statements.
