UCC-3 Termination
A filing that formally releases a previously recorded UCC-1 lien once a loan is paid off, removing the lender's public claim on the pledged collateral.
Once a secured loan is fully repaid, the lender is generally expected to file a UCC-3 termination statement, clearing the public record so the business’s collateral no longer shows an active lien tied to that lender.
Confirming a UCC-3 termination was actually filed after paying off a loan matters, since an un-terminated UCC-1 can complicate or slow down future financing, even after the original debt is gone.
