Hard Money Loan
A short-term, asset-secured loan, usually tied to real estate, funded quickly and priced higher because it's approved primarily on collateral value rather than the borrower's financials.
Hard money lenders focus mainly on the value of the property being financed rather than the borrower’s income, credit, or time in business, which lets them approve and fund much faster than a conventional commercial mortgage.
That speed comes at a cost: hard money loans carry higher rates and shorter terms than traditional real estate financing, and they’re typically used as a bridge to a property purchase, renovation, or time-sensitive deal rather than long-term financing.
