Net Revenue

Total revenue after subtracting returns, discounts, and allowances, reflecting the actual amount a business keeps from its gross sales activity.

Net revenue narrows gross revenue down by removing amounts the business never actually collected or kept, like refunded sales or discounts given at checkout, giving a more accurate picture of real sales activity.

For businesses with significant returns or discounting (retail and e-commerce especially), net revenue can differ meaningfully from gross revenue, which is part of why underwriters sometimes ask for both figures rather than relying on one alone.
